This piece is based on an  article by syndicated writer, Lewis Griswold’s, on the death of his dog, Catfish.  His shared words is the background to the painting and the dog is Gussie, a friend’s new puppy.  When I first saw the photo of Gussie my heart melted as it does with each dog that I get.   It always happens, on the ride home, the beginning of our life together,  I hold him and shed a few tears.  I know this is a future heartbreaker, all the love and pain that will come.  Mr. Griwold’s writing of Catfish “…he up and died and my heart is breaking” rings true to my  heart and to all that have loved an animal.

This painting went to a great home, an art collector and gallery owner.
